July 7, 2008
Cheyenne set her new camera down on her desk and looked around. There weren’t too many places he could be.
She started with the yard, thinking he might be working out there, but he wasn’t.Then she went to the kitchen, not there. Okay, so that meant a systematic search through a rather large house. In the end, he wasn’t in any of the rooms, used or not. Hum, okay, she knew he was here, she didn’t know why, but she knew he was here; the house didn’t feel empty like it would if he were gone.
She'd checked everywhere except the attic. She thought of all the things in the attic which to her were fascinating links to the past. Not good, not good at all. They were the most prominent sign of the passage of time in this house.Damn.
She raced up the steps. Opening the door, she stopped dead.
Shit.
She approached carefully, not wanting to startle him; but wanting desperately to remove the pain she could almost feel, even across the room.
“Jonas,” she said as gently as she could.
He looked at her as though seeing her for the first time. His brown eyes looking even more lost and confused than the day he’d landed in the garden.“This is all that’s left of my life.”
“No, it’s not. It’s just the past, the dead past. It’s no different than that pile of clothes you dug through for days. That pile is my dead past, this is yours, but we have the future, a future together.”“Do we? Or will I go back to this dead past? Will you?”
“No, I won't go back to John, and we'll do everything we can to keep you from going back to your past.”
“Not your past, my past. You were in my past.”
“What?”“Yes, when the distortion happened, you flew out of it. You were dead.”
“Dead!”
“Yes.”
“Did I die when I landed?”
“No, I don’t think so; I think you were dead before you left this time.”
“Holy shit,” she whispered, unable to even begin to comprehend such a thing.
“I’ve been trying for days to find out why you came back dead, but I can’t. I can’t find anything.”“Holy shit,” she repeated, she really didn’t know what else to say. Then a thought came to her, “But, I’m alive and you came through, maybe your coming here saved me.”
“No, it was July 10th when I left my time.”
“And it was July 1st when you landed,” she said clinging to him for support. “It’s July 7th, does that mean I’m going to die in three days?”“I don’t know, if our time is parallel it might just mean that. I’ve been trying so hard to find out why, but I can’t find anything. I came up here hoping for answers, but there aren’t any here, just my past, not yours.”
“Oh, my god.”
“It won’t happen. I wasn’t here July 10th, this time I will be. I won’t let you die.”“Can you stop that? Will you go back?” Suddenly she wrapped her arms around him. “I can’t loose you, not now. I love you.”
He kissed her hard and she clung to him.
Picking her up, he carried her down the steep stairs to her bedroom and placed her gently on the bed.
Lying next to her, he held her tightly. “Can we just stay here until July 10th has passed?” she asked.
“As much as three days in bed with you sounds like heaven, the house was the center of the distortion. I’m not sure staying inside would keep you safe.”
She needed to feel him near, needed him to take away her fear, to make her feel alive. She pulled his shirt from his jeans and started pulling it over his head, kissing his skin as she inched it upwards. He helped her remove the shirt, and then turned to her and repeated the process with hers. His lips were warm and gentle, and when his tongue joined them in the dance up her stomach, a sound of pure ecstasy escaped her lips.He chuckled as he removed her shirt, all the while looking her in the eyes, such love shining in his.
“I love you. For the first time in my life, I’m truly and deeply in love, and I had to travel a hundred and nineteen years to find you. I will not let you go.”
Nothing else mattered but him. He pulled her to him, she forgot everything but him. Her dream man that had fallen from the sky.
Chapter Nineteen

I wondered if Jonas was going to share that information with Cheyenne. I know I'd probably get as far away as possible from that house! Although, I suppose you can't escape destiny.
Nice use of some of those new poses! I particularly like the one where their faces are close and he's stroking her cheek. <3
Oh, she had to know; sooner or later he was going to have to tell her. :D I wouldn't stay anywhere near the house either. I'm sure I could find somewhere else to be for a day.
Thank you, it's so nice to be able to find just the pose you want to make the story look good. Although, I did have to download a box because as far as what I'd cataloged I didn't have the one for her kneeling with her hand on his leg. There's always something more you need. :p
Oooh, and it all comes out, doesn't it? Poor Cheyenne! No one truly wants to know when they're going to die, or if they will die. Yikes.
I was wondering how long it would take for these to, well, get down, LOL! It seems that death was quite the prompt! I wonder what will come of all of this...
Mao,
Yikes, indeed. Talk about scary, and only 3 days! Holy cow, I'd certainly make sure I wasn't where I supposed to die when I was supposed to die.
Hey, if you're going to die, you certainly don't want to miss something that good. :D
Well, at least she's now forewarned, hopefully that'll be enough. But destiny is destiny.
Very romantic, and wonderfully done indeed. Jonas just reeks with masculine, old world manners, but underneath is a cauldron of passion, LOL!
Good for him for sharing that information, but I would say there is something to worry about.
Nothing like talking of death to make you feel alive, and turn to another for some affection.
But Destiny is a hard sucker, and did they just find love to have it wrenched away?
Great update, look forward to more!
Drew,
Thank you, romance isn't hard to write when your hero is Jonas. Things got in the way this time, but they do need to sit down and think about their future.
Interestingly enough, the comments I've gotten have given me something to think about with the next few chapters. Hum some serious writing is definitely in order for me. :D Nothing that will change things, but just need to tidy up some things I left hanging originally. It's great to have input, it makes me think. :D
Romantic and sweet and terrifying. To be told by the man you love that you're going to die in a few days...
but I agree, better to know. For one thing, maybe together they can figure it out. At the very least she can spend the time with him.
Hoping it works out...
Beautiful poses and shots!
Hey S.B., Actually I think she took it rather well as she believes his being there can save her. She's putting her faith in her Knight. :D
Thank you! The pose box catalog really helps in finding just the right pose.
Great update Lachesis! You certainly captured every emotion wonderfully from the sadness at the beginning and then the panic about her possibly dying soon and then to the hot romance.
I too liked the poses while she was kneeling down talking to him, very sweet and realistic.
Crossing my fingers that this all works out somehow and a happy ending is in sight!
Emily,
Thank you so much. I love doing character driven stories that are full of internal and external forces pushing at the characters.
I do have to admit to being pleased with the way the poses worked out. It's nice when they do look like you imagined when you were writing.
You all are all making it so hard to keep my mouth shut. But I promise, I won't say how it ends, that will actually come before too terribly much longer. I recently combined a couple of chapters. :D
It makes complete sense that Jonas would finally disclose that piece of information to Cheyenne. After the overwhelming reality of his situation hit him, telling her the truth had to be a reief for him although I am sure it caused her a bit of grief.
Very romantic piece! Beautiful bittersweet chapter.
Also feeling a little defeated, I think Jonas is so afraid he won't be able to stop it, he had to tell her so she'd be careful. :D
Thank you Gayl, I love writing romance, there are so may layers to a relationship to explore, and I'm always glad when what I intend actually works. :D
Oh my!!! Romantic and creepy!!!!
I'm happy they finally gave up and are enjoying their love.... but she has 3 days left, what is she going to do?
Cheyenne, please run away from the house!! hurry!!!
Does it means, the story is coming to an end, there is only 3 days left for her to "die" or for him to go to his time...
Love all the poses you are using!! Fantastic writing as always!!
Thank you, Sandy! I think I've said how much I love writing romance.
Yes, I just checked, a few more chapters and everything will be answered one way or the other. :D But not to worry, the next Tale is very much planned and started, it just needs to be completely written before it gets too much posted here.
I love being able to understand and use the poses. They really do make a story special. :D
I was wondering when he would tell her about why he came back. I think it's sweet, he came back to save her but will he?
Noir, We can only hope somehow, someway, she'll be saved. ;)
